Beauty's Rose for Disney Wish

In 2019, I was commissioned by Disney to work on a sculpture, inspired by 'Beauty and the Beast' for the entrance to The Rose Bar, on board Disney Wish Cruise Ship.  

I made the small stack of the books that the rose, seemingly grows from. 

'The Rose' is made from pages of an old copy of Beauty and the Beast, and then painted red, and treated with a glitter varnish to make it sparkle.

The V&A Musuem in London have acquisioned my work, 'Baba Yaga's Hut', 2021

This piece, alonside my book, Into the Dark Woods, are now in the collection of the National Art Library, situated at the V&A Musuem in South Kensington. 

The Library opening times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11am - 5pm.

Workshop at The Star

Walking into The Star Inn is like stepping into a fairy tale, 

with tempting aromas of flowers and home-baked bread fresh out of the oven.   

It was here that I was asked to run a workshop for 8 women.

 

We spent the morning making sprigs of paper bluebells, 

inspired by the wild bluebells growing in nearby woodland.
