Paper Sculpting Workshop; Tickets Now on Sale
One more date has been added 'Friday 1st December',
details below...
Charleston House - Paper Sculpting Workshops
taking inspiration from the flora and fauna of Charleston's walled gardens
to create paper blooms from the pages of unwanted second-hand books
Tickets are now on sale for my next available workshop at Charleston House in East Sussex.
It's not until 23rd October, but spaces are limited, and sell out quickly.
This will be my fourth visit to Charleston, and with each workshop, I teach something different.
From folded greeting cards to paper-cut dioramas, light-boxes to paper sculpture.
The workshops are suitable for beginners to enthusiasts who are wanting to develop new skills.

Literary Houses
In this new small series of book-works, I have re-created the homes of some of our most well-known women writers of the 19th Century.
In meticulous detail, these paper houses are built from the pages of Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen and Daphne Du Maurier's most well-known novels.
What inspired this series of works?
While flicking through the Guardian magazine a few months ago, I came across an an article called 'Writer's Rooms'. Published every weekend, 'Writer's Rooms' offered a tantalising glimpse into the minds of our most successful and popular books. Supported by Eamonn McCabe's photographs and accompanying text, the articles explored the working environments of renowned writers and poets.
McCabe notes;
'Peering into the private spaces of contemporary writers seems to hold a peculiar fascination for many of us. It's almost as though by witnessing the secretive space of the poet, novelist or playwright we can glean something of the mysteries of literary creation'.
This made me think about the homes of famous women writers, homes that have now become museums, where we can go to pay homage to these writers, with the hope that their homes will imbue us with inspiration, or enable us a glimpse into their World.

Waitrose Weekend Commission
If you follow me on instagram, you may have spotted 'Emma' beginning work on an editorial commisson last week.
Here are the final photos from the finished project we were working on, for the cover of Waitrose Weekend magazine, in store this week!
The brief was to produce a vintage hardback book with a deckchair, microphone and marquee, illustrating an article about 'upcoming literary festivals in the UK'.
