I had a lovely day at The Cheltenham Literature Festival yesterday,
where I led a workshop for 8-12 year olds.
I took a bundle of discarded picture books with me, and asked the kids to cut out illustrations from different books to create a new imagined scene, in the form of a three-dimensional box-framed collage.
They stuck their cut-out images on to layers of acetate, which were then stacked one on top of another, with foam board spacers in between, and glued into a box frame.
It proved to be a simple, but effective idea.
Here are some photos of some of the work they produced in just 2 hours!
Thank you, and well done to everyone who took part in the workshop.
