'The Tooth Fairy' Commission

The Tooth Fairy, 2015
Commissioned by Manhattan Pediatric Dental Group.

The tooth fairy is a fantasy figure of early childhood. The folklore states that when children lose one of their baby teeth, they should place it underneath their pillow and the tooth fairy will visit while they sleep, replacing the lost tooth with a small payment.

Miki and Bel

My dear friend 'Mel' has been busy on her sewing machine!

Liberty gave me some samples of fabric incorporating my design for their Autum/Winter 2014 Collection 'Wild Flowers'.
I gave Mel some of the printed fleece fabric, and she said that she would make a coat for Miki, and a dress for her daughter 'Bel'.
It was Miki's birthday last week, and Mel presented us with this lovely coat that she has made. I was so impressed, that I wanted to share images with you.
We took the girls to Kew Gardens yesterday to photograph them in their matching outfits.

Mel followed a pattern from one of her pattern books.
The coat and the dress are lined with the tana lawn cotton of the same design.

Miki and Bel both love their garments.
The cotton and fleece are so soft and comfortable to wear, and Mel said 'that it is a lovely fabric to work with on the sewing machine'.
To create your own projects, I am currently selling the tana lawn cotton fabric at a special discounted price of £15.00 per metre.

(This fabric is out of season, and no longer available from Liberty Store).

Mel complimented these garments with some pretty trimming and bias binding.
Matched with some plain coloured tights or leggings, this delicately detailed print will really stand out!

For those of you who don't do sewing, Mel has offered to create a a few items for my online store.
We are currently discussing a 'Wild Flowers' fabric range featuring a small collection of note books and tote bags...
